Sunlight is a crucial factor to grow healthy plants. In order to better understand the quality of natural sunlight on site; I carried out some experimental mapping techniques. These maps will inform my design process and provide a starting point for situating the plants. My method for creating the sunlight mappings stemmed from tools available in rhino. I created shadows on my model that mimicked natural sunlight at 7am and 7pm on both the 14th and 28th of each month throughout the year 2019 (as seen below).
These iterations were then over layed, and areas of heavy shadow and lighter shadow were identified.
